The Baby Dragon

Write a story titled, " The Baby Dragon."

Long ago in the time of wizards and princess, knights and dragons there was a huge island called Iseng. Iseng was an island of the dragons . Much to the deception of outsiders, Iseng was a peaceful place filled with love and friendship among all the dragons. But don't be mistaken the dragons were fearsome creatures. If a mortal were to look into the eyes of a dragon with moments they would become stone. They were gargantuan, fire-breathing, menacing beasts that no one dared to mess with except the brave. The brave being a group of valiant knights known as the Protectors. The Protectors  were not many in numbers but they had hearts of a million knights(it is said that is were the bravery originates from).
Now in the land of Iseng dragons begin training at the young age of 8 days old. As soon as they are able to run they are ready to begin learning. On this day a very special dragon was entering the world. This dragon, before even being born, had a huge responsibility. His name Rutfyg, and he was the first and only born to King Etr and Queen Oujo. Rutfyg was successor to rule over Iseng, and if that wasn't enough pressure in 5 years he would be the leader in the takeover of Anima (the whole creature kingdom).
Rutfyg was born on a beautiful morning and it is said when he first opened his eyes the heavens were so pleased they sent down a rainbow that lasted 3 days. Rutfyg was an extremely fast learner and an excellent fighter. At the age of 1 he could fly faster than any dragon in the land and his call was so exquisite it would take your breath. Not only was he great at all of that Rutfyg was very intelligent. He also held an unusual compassion for all living things no matter the species. He cared for the birds, humans, lions, ogres all the same. In his mind and heart no one living thing had more life value over another; he would always say the worm crawling on the ground has as much rights as we dragons soaring above do. As the years went by no one ever mentioned the future mission to young Rutfyg. Then his 5th birthday approached. The 5th birthday for a young dragon is when they become grown dragons. They are no longer babies or children and they must help protect their land. Rutfyg was all ready for this responsibility and even a little more knowing he was the son of the king and queen. But poor Rutfyg was not ready to be given a whole army to lead in the conquering of a kingdom. He didn't believe in taking others' land just because they were weaker. he didn't want to harm and kill innocent creatures for the sake of victory. He knew his parents, friends and all else in Inseng would be highly disappointed, but he didn't care because in his heart he knew what was right.
So the night before the invasion was suppose to take place Rutfyg called a kingdom wide meeting. In the meeting he explained his feelings. He talked about how his kind-hearted conscious wouldn't allow him to attack Anmia. He asked his comrades for their forgiveness but firmly stated "I won't lead this brigade and I won't have any part of it. In fact if you still proceed with the invasion I will have to betray you my populace and go and warn the citizens of Anima." The dragons were so shocked they couldn't even speak. Finally King Etr spoke. "My son you shame me with your decisions."  "Father," replied Rutfyg "I am not refusing to protect our land, I will always be loyal to Iseng as long as it is in just reason. And this is not just." King Etr looked into his sons pleading eyes. He then spoke. "My dearest Rutfyg, you are a special dragon. Your heart is filled with so much compassion for others. So much as to which you are willing to betray your own home in the name of what is right. I cannot put you against your heart nor your loyalty to your home. We will not invade Anima now nor ever." Cheering erupted throughout the kingdom and Rutfyg was beside himself with relief and elation. He wouldn't have to betray the ones he loved after all and it wouldn't come at the cost of harming others.
Years later Rutfyg became king of Iseng and never has there been a more peaceful time than when he was at throne. He ruled for many centuries and people knew his name throughout all kingdoms. King Rutfyg only fought in the name of safety and justice. He ruled with an iron fist and a heart full of kindness. That's the story of how a baby dragon not only saved one kingdom but many more to come.
